This Is...

First off this image is giving me life, it's the album cover for Soul/R&B artist, Reesa Renee who  will be releasing her first album entitled "Reelease" on August 28th, (8/28). This album is a much anticipated album for the artist hence the album title. I am so excited and can't wait to hear it, I will be purchasing this albuming and sharing my views with you all. Reesa Renee's music always gets me in the best of moods, she is an artist after my own heart.

I shared on twitter about two weeks ago that I was road tripping with my beau listening to Reesa Renee. Didn't care about the traffic anymore I was just in the happiest of moods. My excitement for this artist and her music is evident,  if you haven't heard of her or her music I encourage you to familiarize yourself. To learn more and to listen for yourself, visit her website REESARENEE.com

My Music Is...

Chevy B. Fresh
My Music Is.....
Uplifting and a breathe of fresh air. LOL I mean coming from where I come from (Capital Heights, MD) If u ain't super thuggin, its really easy to get looked over. Being where I been and seeing what I've seen my music hits both ends of the spectrum. I can speak on everything from crime to studying in a dorm room. Honestly feel like the motivation and passion in my lyrics will spark the mind of a listener, who will do big things in this world!

Explain what your MUSIC Is......?
My music is Big Daddy Kane (pause no homo LOL) Tupac, Jay -Z, and a fly dude name Fresh rapped in one! LOL I love showing my different sides and showing my versatility, whether its wordplay, painting a visual, being da ladies man, or lyrically attacking the beat.

What genre of MUSIC can’t you live without?
I would have to say none! Cause they all influence me a lot!!!..recently I have a love for country. Its so real to me, no offense but it reminds me of a white mans blues (not to say that white people don’t enjoy blues, and African Americans don’t enjoy Country) Gospel as well, I wanna make music that moves the soul like that one day…to name a few.

How BIG is MUSIC in your life?
MAANNNNN!!!! I walk with a beat, in my bop, in my beef and brocs LOL! Music is huge to me, one of the ultimate forms of expression. You can do so much with words its almost surreal just being a fan of music and really seeing angles which artist use to deliver a message.

What inspires your MUSIC?
My moms passing at 17, my father and other family members in Jamaica, my brothers, sisters, close friends relatives who are my biggest fans, the new fans I have acquired, old basketball coaches, mentors, idols.I just want to say look at me, I made it!. To take it deeper, the poor man! Smh I wanna help and give back so much.. Wise man once said “how can I help the poor if I'm one of them, I got rich and gave BACK! To me that’s the win win!” and I concur. Chevy B. Fresh

Who has influenced you MUSICALLY?
My brother Cosley Pinnock…this guy has been my biggest fan since day one! No matter what I said I wanted to do, he never doubted me. Initially I was suppose to be in the NBA by now lol or so I was told. Playing Ball at a small time D3 school (Frostburg State University) that idea went dim real quick lol but from ball player to rapper he always had my back. As well as my closest friends (LCD) And my hood (Bon-A-View 6500) Addison road shit lol salute!
What are some words you live by (Style or Life)?
Easy LOVE.LIVE.FRESH. That means so many things, give love and get it BACK! Live a little, don’t let anyone slow up your dream cause let them tell it, I was suppose to be locked up like my father, or a dead beat dad. I'm neither.(cant wait to be a dad tho lol)

If it wasn’t for MUSIC what would you be doing right now?
If it wasn’t for music I would either be over seas crossing the shit outta dem boys on the court lol!!uhhhhhhhh or serving in the community someway some how.. I still have dreams of opening a rec. center.
What mark will you leave on the MUSIC Industry?
My mark on music will be a stain that you cant wipe off!! I PROMISE. ….I feel like I will be the strength for the hopeless, and weak as well as the motivation for the already driven. I will bring the industry, style, SCHWAGGG LOL, a great array of lyrics, and CONTENT…THE GAME IS MISSING CONTENT. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!

Who would you like to work with in the MUSIC industry?
Great question, I wanna work with a lot of people! To name a few R.Kelly Bruno Mars, Usher, Adele, Nicki (Just so I know its real lol) MMG, DRIZZY, YEEZY, HOV, J Cole, Kendrick, Diddy (tryna have a dance off n shit lol) Ziggy Marley, Vybz Kartel and many more! its really too many..we can go on forever.

Amber Mimz Live at the Apple Store

This weekend I visited the Apple Store to see Amber Mimz " iAM AnUrban Romantic" perform live (I told y'all I would get out and check the weather) and what a great show it was. The outfit that she wore had me gagging with excitement, the adornment headpiece, frilly mini skirt and the ribbon bowed white pumps were to die for. I love her style.....its so eccentric and eclectic! She serenaded a male audience member and got the crowd engaged,

There was a dope artist in attendace(i forgot his name but I will get back to you on that) that created a portrait of Amber on the ipad, when I say dope, that's what I mean. Lots of fun music lovers, bloggers and other artist were there to support Mz. Urban Romantic.

Meet The Rich Ant

Who is the Rich Ant might you ask, well the name is very catchy! Rich Ant is Antwanyce Richardson, a woman, daugther, friend, a painter and an artist. I met her last year at a hip hop music event in Washington, DC. I watched her paint as rap artist introduced their songs to the audience, I am a lover of music but some how my attention was captured by this woman painting. Hey call it what you want but I was amazed, I always thought I was like a renaissance kid when I was little. I knew I could dance, sing, act, paint, draw, sew, cook, play basketball, or whatever their was to think of I thought I could do it.

So watching Antwanyce paint brought me back to that time when I thought I was a great artist(drawing, painting, sketching) but really that wasn't my niche'..lol. So I decided to catch up with her to see what inspires her to paint. Read what she had to say:

SF:When did you become interested in art? In high school.
RA:Is that the same date/time that you started to paint? Nope I started painting in 2006.

SF: What are some of your favorite colors to use?
RA:Mostly cool jewel tones.

SF:What is your most favorite thing to paint?
RA:Trees, eyes, lips, breast, clouds and bubbles. But lately I have fixated on bumble bees and sea life.

SF:What inspires you to paint?
RA:Music, other artist, life, love

SF:Do you have a favorite painter(s)?
RA:Dead: Picasso's cubist period, Dali, Klimt Living: Bryan Collins, Tatiana Saurez, Glenn Aurthor, Sherry Delorme, Natasha Wescoat the list goes on and on.

SF:Have you ever done body paint(ing)?
RA:No but I plan too

SF:What is the infatuation with body painting?
RA:Don't know but I'm a mixed media artist so I explore all mediums in which to create.

SF:Why do you think it has become so popular?
RA:Because its sexy and sex sells.

SF:Are any of your art pieces for sale?
RA:Yes quite a few.

SF:If so what are the price ranges?
RA:$12 - $1000 for now the gallery recognition the more my work will increase with value.

SF:Where do you think art is going in the next 5 years?
RA:Beyond Beyond.

SF:What are your goals with your artistry?
RA:To become full time, To picked up by a national lowbrow Magazine, and sell my art world wide.

SF:What is your opinion on Arts being taken out of public schools? RA:It is a disservice to our young people, art can help with other subjects and it healing in art.
