Laz Alonso
Laz Alonso landed this week's spot of Man of the Week, he's a native of Washington D.C. an a actor. He has a new movie coming soon Jumping the Broom Directed by Salim Akil. You may remember him in This Christmas and Stomp the Yard but the list can go on. His handsome looks and suave persona is what captured my attention. I'm excited to see what this new movie does for his career.

Athlete
Charles Follis is known for being the first African American professional football player. His first season was in 1904 with the Shelby Athletic Club (Ohio) as a halfback. Follis was also the first African American baseball catcher in the Negro League(1901-1902).

Oscar Devereaux Micheaux Produce more than 44 films and worked for the Lincoln Motion Picture Company. He is known as the most prolific Black Independent Filmmaker in American cinema. As an author he wrote seven novels with one novel being a national bestseller.
Films:Son of Satan(1922),The Spider Web(1926), Daughter of the Congo(1930),The Betrayal(1948)
Awards: Director's Guild of America Award, Golden Jubliee Special Award, Hollywood Walk of Fame
