Been Gone For A Minute

My Apologies
I've been gone for a minute but I won't be gone for much longer. I've been experiencing life, all that it has to offer, good, bad, pretty, ugly, joys and sorrows. Sometimes you just have to take a step back from everything and evaluate yourself, and the life you are living and realize what's most important. I will be posting soon..PROMISE! Thanks for your support!! MUAH!!

I LOVE MY HAIR

I absolutely commend Sesame Street for taking the time out to make a video segment such as this. More often than not African American Children/Adults believe beautiful hair is not curly but straight and that's the way every women should wear her hair to be beautiful. As a child my hair was natural until I went to high school, my best friend who is also African American hair is wavy, but it takes no time to straighten which made me want the same texture. My mother never forced the straight look on me, it was me who wanted my hair to be straight to be more socially accepted. If this was a video when I was a child I probably would have remained natural through out my entire life. This is a GREAT example for young girls to understand that LOVING YOUR HAIR IS A MUST, my future daughter will know the importance of self love for every portion of her body.

Please share your thoughts on this video.

I APPLAUD SESAME STREET..JOB WELL DONE!
