Inauguration 2013
Today is such a monumental day for all those who have believed in the 44th President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama. Four years have came and gone, the tears, polling, voting, screaming, hollering and debates amongst peers, friends and foes were all worth it to see another four more years for President Obama. I am truly happy for the President, he deserved a second term to complete the task he started in 2009. Being knowledgeable and patient with the process is very important this time around. The accusations, attacks, snide remarks and backbiting (which I am sure will occur) is not necessary if we wish to see a better America.
Although I am a born native of Washington, D.C. I did not attend the inauguration festivities this year as I have hoped to. My family celebrated Martin Luther King's birthday with a Brunch (as we do every year) but I still felt very much apart of all that is going on. I live in DC and all the excitement and events going on I feel so connected. How could you not feel and be excited during a weekend like this?
What did you do on Inauguration Day?
