Rest Well Chuck Brown

Growing up in Washington, D.C. has been an amazing experience not only because of our unique sense of style, or undeniable slang but simply because of Go-Go Music. As a native of D.C. my entire upbringing was centered around music, Go-Go being the core of that experience. I can remember my father playing his old records of The Temptations, The Gap Band, The O'Jays and so many other artist,   and included stories about Chuck Brown and why he was so important to D.C. From then on my love and respect for Go-Go music was always number one.

Chuck Brown soared to heights that many may think is unattainable, such as being inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. He receive that title in 2006 but his journey began in 1972, from that point until his last breathe he was deserving of every title he acheived. The lost of Chuck Brown means so much to natives of Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia, he was like an extended family member in a sense. His music will forever live on in our hearts, cars, homes and clubs. Rest Well Chuck Brown, we still winding up!
