Remembering the life and legacy of the Actress, Model and Singer Aaliyah Dana Haughton. She is gone from earth but not from the hearts of her family, friends and fans. On August 25, 2001 after recording the "Rock The Boat" video Aaliyah and eight others boarded a personal plane under a unlicensed pilot who was also known to have a addiction to alcohol and cocaine. Upsetting the world with his selfish act lead so many young girls to remember Aaliyah in the way she was viewed to the world (with the swoop of hair of the eye, baggy pants, midriff shirts, etc.). Aaliyah will always be crowned the Princess of R&B!

Can you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the upsetting news?

I can remember mine: It was August 25th I was on my way home from my cousins house, (it was so late) I was suppose to be getting ready for the first day of school (9th grade). While riding home the station we were listening to kept playing Aaliyah songs, we (brothers & cousins too) were jamming, once the last song went off they announced the horrific news. It was already kind of like a somber mood because as I said it was late, so my brothers, cousins and I begin to scream, yell and cry. Before my love for Beyonce(my sister in my head) their was my love for Aaliyah. Needless to say, I was crushed, I cried my eyes out for about a week. I watched everything that there was to watch on her, made a shrine in my room and everything.
