For The Fame or The Fortune

Mitch Mathis is a native of Washington D.C. and the CEO of his own event marketing company. He knows the highs and lows, and the ins and outs of this business, having over ten (10) years of experience he is sure to produce nothing less than the best. Speaking of events by Mitch Mathis, he will be hosting an exclusive event this weekend. Read on as he explains the planning of this event.

SF: What is the name of your company?

MM: Dream Team LLC. and the company was established in 2006, my motto is: “This is the life I’ve chosen”. I live by that everyday.

SF: You are hosting an event on August 21, 2010, can you explain this event in more detail?

MM: The name of the event is Fortune 500- Sponsored by DT Nation it stemmed from me wanting to keep this event very exclusive, I’ve always heard of people throwing parties and say that they are exclusive but they really haven’t been. This event is for the Young, Rich and Out of Control, young meaning not too young but young professionals, rich in money, rich in spirit and rich in the mindset and the out of control meaning we can all come together and get loose but also be socially responsible. We teamed up with Divas MPH (Making Our People Healthier) for this event. Divas MPH was founded by four dynamic young women with a strong interest in public health and a passion for improving the total health and wellness of women, their families, and their communities. Each of these young women bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and talent to the organization. Their will be a lot of people showing their wealth, but this event is also an event about giving back, a vendor will be set up for Divas, MPH where guest can give donations.

SF: How did you come up with the idea to host an exclusive party?

MM: I was looking at events that were going on in the area; to me none of them were exclusive. So I decided to get Belvedere involved, I did a movie trailer specifically for this event which is on the website. All of which separates this event from the rest, it is not the norm.

SF: How were guest notified about the event?

MM:Phone calls were made and invitations were sent out for this event.

SF: Since this is an exclusive event how many guest were invited?

500 guests were invited to stay with the theme of the event.

SF: Are there any special incentives or perks that will be provided at this event?

MM:There are accommodations for this event, we have hotel accommodations at The Crown Plaza Hotel& limousine rides (30% off) leaving from Mio Restaurant to the event. We will have the red carpet but no backdrop for pictures, because this event is so exclusive I don’t want it to be too noticeable. A photographer and videographer will be there to capture this exclusive event.

SF: Is the Fortune 500 the only upscale event that you have sponsored?

MM:No it’s not, I do events at The Park at Fourteenth, I started that over a year ago, Eden on Mondays and Policy on Tuesdays they are all prominent events in Washington D.C. I’ve worked with multiple event planning company’s, (one of which an event was for President Bush and Don King; super exclusive) that was with Debbie LeHardy. I also did company event management at the Marriott Hotel.

SF: How often do you plan to host events with a caliber such as this one?

MM: I may plan for it to be a seasonal event; it’s not something that we are trying to do once a month. This event is special and very exclusive.

SF: Is Washington D.C. the only area that you host parties?

MM: I’ve done parties in NYC, Richmond, and the DMV is my largest market, but eventually I want to take it to every city.
